Requirements and Challenges

KBS is one of the leading manufacturers of stand display systems used in stores and shopping malls. There are different type of materials used in the stand display systems such as stainless steel, galvanized steel, carbon steel and also aluminum. Therefore, a wide variety of harmful welding dust, smoke and fume is generated in the welding shop at KBS.

There are 15 welders on each ducting line in the welding shop. However, the frequency and period of active welders are always changing, due to the different batch sizes in the production.

Solution

  • After introducing the measurements at site and ventilation calculations, VANTERM installed AC-324 filter unit, a ventilator in silencer-box and the extraction arms at KBS welding shop.

  • The welding fume is captured by extraction arms type EK-13.160 (length 3 m) at the manual welding workplaces.

  • To decrease the heating costs in winter times, the installation was also equipped with a summer/winter switch.
