Requirements and Challenges

CNC laser cutting machines became indispensable for the sheet metal machining processes. Along with their high speed machining abilities, they also need dust collectors which are able to cope with high amount of dust and emissions that are generated during cutting.

MARMARA LAZER COMPANY has many CNC laser cutting machines in its production hall in Istanbul. In one of the halls, 3 pcs. TRUMPF CO2 lasers are running. Their existing filter units clogged very easily and were unable to clean with jet pulse cleaning system. These caused full stops at manufacturing frequently.

Solution

  • VANTERM analyzed the cutting table of each TRUMPF CO2 laser machine and determined the air flow capacity for the each one. According to the required capacities, VANTERM PL-2500 and PL-3000 laser filter units have been replaced instead of the old dust collectors in the production hall.
  • PL-model filter units are specially designed for thermal cutting processes (such as plasma and laser cutting) with their panel filter elements. The filter elements of the PL models that are used in this application, have been running now more than 20.000 operating hours.
