Requirements and Challenges

The company, UZTEL, is producing cast parts of steel and cast iron up to 2 tones/piece. In its foundry located 50km. away from Bucharest, they have 2 melting pots. The two melting furnaces run 5days/week and normally 5-6 hours/day.

Depending on production load, they sometimes run it 10 hours/day. As a result, there is a high amount of smoke and dust generated from the melt furnaces. UZTEL needed a robust dust collector for solving the filtration problem and meet the local environmental regulations.

Solution

  • VANTERM with its local dealer, made necessary investigations and calculated the required capacity per furnace and also found out the correct filter media, to be used in the dust collectors. As a result, 2pcs. x AC-403 filter units were planned and installed per each furnace.
  • The filter units were prepared for outdoor conditions and they are installed outside. After the required piping between the filter units and the furnaces are finished, the filter units are put in operation, successfully. The AC-403 filter units impressed the service and maintenance department of UZTEL with its long filter lifetime.
