Requirements and Challenges

Sarmaşık Makina has been producing bakery – pastery machineries and equipments, as well as packaging machineries. Sarmaşık Makina has a welding area where they have almost all types of welding processes such as MIG/MAG welding, Electrode welding and aslo TIG welding. The welding shop is running normally one shift per day.

A high amount of welding fume and smoke is produced in the welding shop. Especially in the winter time when the windows are all closed, it was uncomfortable and unhealthy for the operators.

Sarmaşık Makina needed a welding fume extraction and filtration, to overcome this challenge.

Solution

  • After carrying out the necessary measurements and collecting the data about the fume and smoke load in the welding shop, VANTERM prepared the welding fume extraction and filtration project. VANTERM installed 8 pcs. of extraction arms in 3-meter length together with 3-meter-long extensions cranes.

  • AC-164 filter unit is used to filter the collected welding fume and smoke. In order to save energy, the filter unit’s control panel is prepared with a VFD – frequency inverter. The correct required extraction capacity is automatically provided by the AC-164 filter unit, which provides continuous energy saving for Sarmaşık Makina.
