MERCEDES BENZ has two production plants in Turkey. One of their plant, which is located in Aksaray, Turkey was facing a dust extraction problem at their MAZAK CNC laser cutting machine, due to the low performance of existing dust collector. The existing filter unit was installed together with the MAZAK laser, as an original part of the system. However, the existing filter unit has been creating problem since the system has been taken into operation. The existing dust collector had cartridge type filter elements with rotary cleaning system inside.
Unfortunately, the filter cartridges were clogged constantly and in a short time, which led to very high maintenance expenses, high filter replacements costs and also production loss due to unplanned stops. This was unacceptable for MERCEDES.
